Time in Japan supercharged my art and anime obsession; landing in locked-down Los Angeles, I shelved drawing as “Pondo”, my alter ego and drifted through lifeless commercial to find stable ground in a COVID-19 world.

In Chico, CA, I juggled illustration studies and graphic-design gigs, mixed with a splash of college drama. I was torn between fine art’s seduction and commercial art’s pragmatism, answering to both David as the designer and Pondo as the artist.
